Ted Failon's Case, Over exaggerated? (opinion)

The recent case of Ted Failon on the sudden death of her wife, Trina, had been a hot topic for the past week. No wonder because Ted Failon was said to be one of the country's most prominent news caster, and with him being suspected of murder, who would not want to talk about that?

During the investigation, the media has been delivering a blow-by-blow coverage on Failon's case like a major catastrophic event, which I believe have been overly exaggerated to a point where the media forgot their objectivity just to sell their news.

While Ted Failon can be called a "celebrity", the way the media portrayed the incident was overly exaggerated that most of its stories revolved around Ted.

Because of this, certain biases are made because the media tends to portray Failon as a “victim” instead of the traditional “suspect until proven otherwise” we see on police stories.

These biases can easily affect the case since the authorities, just like what we saw on TV, can’t conduct a thorough investigation since the media keeps bantering on the technicalities of the case.

While I do sympathize on Ted Failon's case, I believe that the media should stay focused on their reporting and leave it up to the authorities if Ted is guilty or not.

Shoe Capital of the South

While on the trek of our family reunion, we stumbled upon a quaint place in Laguna---- where shoe stories in great varieties proliferated the streets of Liliw.

The municipality of Liliw is said to be Laguna's shoe capital, where its busy streets are filled with shoe sellers and boutiques that would instantly catch any person’s eye.

These shops mostly sell women's footwear--- from ordinary flip flops, sandals, and step ins, though they also sell men's footwear to a degree.

The price range will definately suit everyone's budget as it costs about P25 a pair upto P200 depending upon the buyer’s taste.

Other than its famous shoe stores, Liliw is also known for its cold water resorts that would definitely refresh anyone who is in the need for a cold dip this summer.

Liliw also offers home made sweets for those craving for some native pastilles de leche or the traditional buko pies and macapuno.

Located near the municipalities of Nagcarlan, Sta Cruz, Majavjav, and Dolores, Liliw offers a chance for visitors to enjoy another unique Filipino experience.
